Acai Obsession

I have been absolutely obsessed with acai berries lately I know the trend has been kind of popular for a while and usually I am rather way before people when it comes to a craze or very late. In this case I'm late no surprise.

Acai Berry
In actual berry form they look like this which I would describe as a more purple almost magenta blueberry. I don't believe they actually sell the berries like this but I know I've personally never seen them being sold like this in the supermarket. Usually they are already made and blended or in bars.

In most forms you will find it like this called an acai bowl or sometimes also in smoothie form, this is mine. I get the tropical acai bowl from this local place by me. Essentially it is acai blended with pineapple and mango with granola, banana, strawberry and shaved coconut on the top. It is so refreshing and been a go to for me lately. Most bowls are very filling whenever I get one it is usually for dinner which I like to have a lighter meal and this is perfect and keeps me full till the next morning. I also know they sell acai bars which is just frozen acai that you can blend to make bowls, or smoothies. They sell these bars in Sprouts, Whole Foods, and Costco. It is a good alternative to ice cream, gelto, or fro yo I honestly prefer it, it's ridiculously refreshing and tasty.

Heres some fun facts and benefits of acai:
  • Boosts up energy levels (great for during school because lets be honest we all pull all nighters studying)
  • It helps to add luster to skin and nails
  • Acai orginates from the Amazon rainforest in Brazil
  • Also has a lot of iron (awesome for females because during our periods we lose alot of iron from the blood which makes us weaker and not have as much energy)
  • It has been used as weight loss suplement
  • Acai fruit is very low in sugar (alot of fruits are high in sugar such as cantalope so sometimes the harmful effects of sugar weigh out the goodness of the fruit)
Hope you all enjoyed this different type of post I thought it would be fun to share with you my latest obsession and some cool facts about it.
Have a great day see you all Friday!!

High School Survival Guide: What should i eat at lunch?

I don't think I have talked to any high schooler who has good or even semi decent lunches at their school. My school had the greasiest pizza and shady orange chicken, it was honestly the biggest mess. I only ate lunch at school my freshman year when they had these really good and healthy chicken wraps but then they took them away my sophomore year and that was the end of me eating at school.

Sandwiches get boring after a while so i really had to start getting creative. First I would make personal salads add some shredded carrots, croutons and whatever we had in the fridge. I have this salad tupperware that has a little compartment for sauce so i put whichever one i want in their.
Looks like this and you can find it in places like Walmart and Target

Another option I liked a lot too was salsa and chips or guacamole and chips I put them in the same container above. It was honestly so easy I could do it the night before in like 5 minutes.

Also if you don't want to eat too much just something to hold you over till you get home i recommend these little individual trail mix packs from Trader Joes they are filling from the protein in the nuts so it will hold you over till you get home.

My favorite lunch option i came up with during school was do it yourself lunchables. In any container i would put some ritz crackers, little pieces of cut up cheddar cheese, and a couple of slices of turkey or ham. It's really fun to put it together I think and made me feel like I was back in elementary school.

Lastly I liked to make parfaits any cup in my house that had a lid or a mason jar I did a layer of yogurt then fruit and then granola and just kept layering it to the top.

I hope you guys liked these lunch ideas i thought they were a change then the typical sandwich this is what I did my sophomore and junior year. Senior year i was lucky enough to get out at lunch which was the best thing ever if you have the option to I would highly recommend it.

More books!

Whenever I need ideas for new books to read I always go on Google and look for some that a lot of people recommend. I saw a lot of people talk about Anna and The French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins and now I can see why.
This is the cover, I rented mine from the library and finished this 360 page book in 5 days, so it was that good. I haven't liked a book this much and been head over heals for it since Flirting in Italian, I liked other books but none I super loved.

This book is about Anna a girl from Georgia who's dad sends her to an American school in Paris. She makes some friends and in her friend group there is this guy named Etienne St. Clair and everybody calls him by his last name St. Clair he kind of has this bad boy thing going on and Anna is immediately drawn to him but he has a long time girlfriend. Also another girl in their friend group Meredith also has a crush on him so for girl code reasons she can't be with him. But that doesn't really stop them you can tell they are both into each other they go out a lot but Anna gets mad because he always goes back to his girlfriend and she is basically the side chick. You can tell they  have a deep connection because when they go on Christmas break they talk everyday over the phone. A lot of stuff happens, they fight, dance, kiss, and some other interesting stuff I don't want to ruin the surprise.

All in all it really is a great book a lot of drama which I like. Like I've said I like girly books so this was right up my alley in terms of that. I also like foreign romances.

I hope you all have a great weekend see you Monday!

What I Ate Wednesday!

As you guys know I am really trying to live a healthier life style and just all around feel better about myself and how I look and feel in clothes. I started this week and honestly it's going really well I just hope I stay motivated and consistent with it or else their will be no outcome. But today I decided to do What I Ate Wednesday actually on a Wednesday this time, I really enjoy seeing these so I thought I would do one myself.

Breakfast:
I go for a walk every morning and all I crave after is something super refreshing and citrusy. So I went to the farmers market and picked up some grapefruit which were 2 for $1 holla to that deal, I usually have half a grapefruit every morning. I also had it with a hard boiled egg no yolk I personally don't like the way yolks taste when their boiled. I drank a kale smoothie with it which was super refreshing.

Lunch:

I went ahead and made myself a lo mein stir-fry for lunch with a ton of super fresh veggies and a sauce of soy sauce and sriracha. I topped it off with some more sriracha because I love everything extra spicy. It tasted soooo good I will try and do a post about super soon I loved this recipe!

Dinner:

I guess I was feeling oriental today, I just realized I had Asian things for lunch and dinner but honestly it was delicious so it doesn't even matter. Anyways for dinner I decided to make a kale and lettuce salad and put these little crispy noodle strips on top. As for dressing I decided to try Annie's Sesame Ginger vinaigrette which was super amazing and tasty I really recommend it. It is a vinaigrette so it has way less calories and fat then a typical salad dressing so it's guilt free which I love.

Hope you all enjoyed and have a great day!

Baby Lips

During the summer and late in winter my lips always get super dry and flaky because the moisture in the air is all weird so my lips react weird. So during those times I'm always on the hunt for the best lip products to really help my lips out. My all time favorite lips products for dry flaky lips has to be Maybelline's Baby Lips I like them because I feel like their a more high end chapstick but cheaper lipstick which I enjoy and appreciate. The quality and application is great.
These are the three I have and I love them all!

This one is in Pink Punch and this is the only one I have that actually has color which is a darker bubble gum pink.So this one I especially love for when I want extra moisture and some color as well. I featured this in my favorite summer lip products so if you want to see swatches of it go ahead and check that post out!

Next up we have Twinkle which is your basic baby pink chapstick. This has great moisture I usually put it on before I go to bed. It also smells amazing like Fruit Loops or a fruity drink I love it. Comes on sheer

Lastly I have the Baby Lips Dr Rescue in coral crave. I recommend this one if you're having really terrible lip problems, even worse then dryness and flakiness. It works wonders and is really effective for a makeup brand. It smells like Vicks you know the stuff you put one your chest when your sick. I feel like that makes it even more effective. I would have to say this is the glossiest of all of them when I apply it I can tell it makes my lips 10x more glossier. Which some may not like but I don't mind it because it works so great!

This is what they all look like from left to right Pink Punch, Twinkle, and Coral Crave. They are all pinks but have different shades which I really like as well. Pink Punch is your darker but more neon pink. Twinkle is your basic baby pink and Coral Crave is a nice corally pink color.

I love all these chapsticks so much I really hope you all get the chance to try them out, I really recommend them!

Recipe: Healthy Tuna Salad

Hey everybody!  First and foremost I wanted to say a very Happy 4th of July to any of my fellow Americans, this really is an amazing day and I hope you all are enjoying yourselves!

For today's post I decided to share with you a healthy tuna salad that I made the other day and it turned out really good. I personally don't even like mayo so I usually do this anyway.

Everything is to taste because everybody is different in regards to if they want their stuff more lemony or more garlic it is all personal preference the ingredients below are just what I did.

Ingredients:
< One can of tuna, any of your choice
< 3 tbsp. of lemon
< 2 tbsp. of oil
< 2 tsp of salt and pepper
< 3 tsp of garlic powder
<2 tsp of Trader Joes everyday seasoning
< 3 tsp red pepper flakes
< 1 green onion (chopped)
< 1 1/2 stalks of celery (chopped)
Directions:
< Combine everything in a bowl and mix
< Taste it when your done mixing and add whatever you need more of
< I ate this with some pita bread, but you can honestly do whatever rather by itself or crackers it tastes great either way

I cut the celery like this because I like crunchy chunks in my tuna salad

This is the tuna I use and I really like the taste, not an overwhelming fish smell or taste

I actually forgot completely to take a picture of the finished product which I'm really sorry about because it looked really good. I'm still getting used to taking pictures of everything, but I really want to try and get better for you all so hopefully next time I actually remember to take a picture of the end product.

That is all for this post I hope you all enjoyed and try it out! Once again have an amazing 4th of July and weekend. See you on Monday!!!

Fourth of July day to night outfits and treat!

Hey everybody! So in todays post I'm doing a super awesome post of a day to night outfit for 4th of July and a cool and easy treat as well.

Outfits!

First for the outfit on the left which is the day outfit I chose a red and white stripped shirt from Tj maxx some comfy blue shorts from forever 21 and just some white converse. I love this outfit because it's so comfortable to wear shopping or to a picnic anything one might be doing on the 4th.

For the night outfit on the right I put together a blue and white stripped skater dress from H&M with some white studded sandals from Steve Madden. I also took a clip and did my hair half up and half down. You can't tell but I also have on a red lip just to finish off the outfit!

Here's some more pictures of the outfits

Treat time!
It honestly took me forever to decide what I wanted to make because I wanted it to be cute but at least semi healthy! So I decided to make a fizzy cranberry juice with a red and white mini skewer
Ingredients:

For drink
< 1/2 cup of cranberry juice
< 1/2 cup of sprite or ginger ale

Per mini skewer
< 1 medium strawberry
< 6 mini marshmallows

Directions:
1. You want to go ahead and fill half of whatever cup you want to use with cranberry juice and the other half with sprite! That is all for the drink super delicious.
2. For the skewer I just broke one long skewer in half and pushed three mini marshmallows to the end of one side then put my sliced strawberries in the middle and then the other three marshmallows on the other side!
3. You will want to stick the skewer on top of the cup so everyone can drink and then take a little bite!
I came up with this decoration piece, which is just a Styrofoam ring from the dollar store, which I painted red and blue then just stuck some stickers all over, which I think makes it look even better. Another treat option would be to make a bunch of the mini skewers and stick them in the Styrofoam vertically, it would look really cool and everyone would love picking one!
I also just had this white and red straw in my house but whatever you have is fine as well

I hope everybody has an amazing 4th of July and this post inspired you in some way.
